NEW DELHI: Badminton legend Prakash Padukone will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award this year from the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The BWF Council shortlisted the sporting icon based on the award commission's recommendation. Badminton Association of India (BAI) had submitted his name for the award.

The former World No. 1 and the first-ever Indian to win a world championships medal, Padukone has contributed immensely to the game. In 2018, he was also honoured with the BAI’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

BENGALURU: The southern city of Bengaluru is all set to have its first ever ‘Bengaluru Sports Fest’ on 8-9 December 2018 that aims to inculcate sports as a culture to be followed by every Indian family in the city and state, Press Trust of India reports. The festival would be conducted under the aegis of Sports Excellence Trust at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence.

Vikram Investments has been accused of duping 1,776 investors of billions of rupees, a Times of India report quotes the Bengaluru police as confirming.
