INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a ban on the promotion of online gaming apps by cricketers M S Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. 

Online gaming is "not banned or prohibited" in the state and whether to play these mobile-based games or not was a matter of "self-restriction", the court ruled.

The order by a Division Bench of Justices Vivek Rusia and Amarnath Kesharwani, passed on September 5, became available on Tuesday, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking to declare Hockey as India's national game.  The PIL was moved by advocate Vishal Tiwari who argued that till now hockey has not been officially declared as the "national sport".

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has dismissed, with costs, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by social activist Sudhir Sharma against the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) and Indian Premier League's (IPL) auction process. In his PIL, Sharma alleged that bidding of players in IPL is a violation of constitutional and statutory rights, calling it illegal and should be stopped.
