REAL KASHMIR Football Club (RKFC) on Sunday announced the formation of a women’s team, which will compete at national tournaments.

On the occasion of Daughter's Day, RKFC chairman Sandeep Chattoo said: This team will be for the daughters of Jammu and Kashmir “as we believe that girls have tremendous sporting potential and can go miles if trained properly”. 

Chattoo's wife Poonam, who is originally a resident of Coorg in Karnataka, will have overall charge of the team.

NEW DELHI: adidas India has announced an official partnership with Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC), the first team from the Valley to qualify for the I-League, the country's notionally top tier league. As part of the partnership, adidas will become the official kit partner for the club and will aim to make football popular in Kashmir.
