DOHA: The global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) has resulted in the opening two races of the MotoGP season, which were scheduled to take place in Qatar on March 8 and in Thailand on March 22, being taken off the grid.

While the Qatar Grand Prix has been cancelled altogether, the OR Thailand GP has been postponed, pending an evaluation by world governing body FIM, International Reciprocal Trade Association (IRTA) and MotoGP promoters Dorna Sports if an alternative date is possible for the event later this season.
