ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021

DUBAI: The ICC men’s T20 World Cup delivered a record viewership globally, garnering a television reach of 167 million, the game’s governing body said on Thursday. 
With the tournament returning after five years, nearly 10,000 hours of live coverage was offered across TV and digital platforms in 200 countries.

Increased viewership and consumption was witnessed in India, Pakistan, UK, Australia and the strategic market of USA. The highly-anticipated India-Pakistan clash saw a record consumption of 15.9 billion minutes in India on the Star India Network.

MUMBAI: And here we were thinking that the the hardline extremist Taliban, which has taken over Afghanistan, would "zip their collective lips" on the status of women in sport. At least until next month's ICC T20 World Cup kicked off.  That is not to be though and the International Cricket Council clearly has a problem on its hands.

DHAKA: Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has decided to miss the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman, in order to give a fair chance to the openers who have been performing well. Iqbal informed about his decision to Bangladesh Cricket Board's President Nazmul Hassan, and chief selector Minhajul Abedin before making an announcement on his Facebook page.

DUBAI: The ICC has invited proposals from interested and qualified applicants to deliver a complete end-to-end media solution in India and UAE for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign. The event, which is hosted by BCCI, is scheduled to take place in the UAE and Oman from 17th October to 14th November.

MUMBAI: With the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and Cricket Australia (CA) having agreed to inevitable postponement of the One-Day International (ODI) series between the two nations that was originally planned to take place in India in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup 2021, the BIG question is: Will there be a team from Afghanistan represented at ICC’s showpiece event?

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council Wednesday invited parties to submit expressions of interest for various non-exclusive media rights in relation to public screening and onboard rights ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The event is scheduled to take place in the UAE and Oman from 17th October to 14th November.

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council Tuesday confirmed that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be staged in the UAE and Oman due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in India. The BCCI will remain the hosts of the event, which will now be held in Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, from 17 October to 14 November.

MUMBAI: There is clarity now on the "other venue" the International Cricket Council had alluded to when it announced on June 1 that the focus of its planning efforts for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 was on the event being staged in the UAE.  The ICC board had also confirmed at the time that the BCCI will remain the hosts of the event regardless of where the event is played.

DUBAI: The ICC board, which met here Tuesday, has sent a clear signal to the mandarins in the Board of Control for Cricket in India that the "majority opinion" in the cricketing world is that the Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 should NOT be hosted in India.
