Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the television and digital rights to broadcast and stream all New Zealand-based Blackcaps and White Ferns matches into India and associated territories for the next seven years.

It bears noting that SPNI’s digital rights in India will be co-exclusive with incumbent rights holder Amazon Prime for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. 

While financial details were not disclosed, Economic Times reported that the deal value was in the $90 million to $100 million ball park.

Disney Star has reportedly released its ad rates for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League for SD and HD channels. Per an Economic Times report, the broadcaster is seeking Rs 167 crore for co-presenting sponsorships and Rs 83 crore for associate sponsorships on standard definition channels.

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the extension of the exclusive broadcast rights for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka for five years.  The terms of the agreement include exclusive television and digital media rights for a wide range of UFC events through 2028. Financials were not disclosed.

This agreement runs for a 4-year cycle (2023-2027) and includes all FIH events, except the FIH Nations Cup. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ESPN and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) have reached a new, $920 million, eight-year agreement beginning Sept. 1, 2024, for NCAA championships media rights.  The deal includes domestic rights to a record 40 NCAA championships – 21 women’s and 19 men’s events – and international rights to those same NCAA championships plus the Division I men’s basketball tournament.
