Taiwan's Victor Sports re-enters Indian mkt, opens store in Delhi

Taiwan's leading badminton brand, "Victor Sports," opened its first store in the Indian capital, Delhi, on Monday, marking a renewed push into the Indian market following the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The store, located in the Moti Nagar area of West Delhi, was inaugurated by Taiwanese Representative Baushuan Ger, along with representative staff, local Taiwanese business leaders, trade association personnel, and Victor Sports' Indian brand ambassadors Ashwini Ponnappa and Prannoy HS.

Maha govt demands Rs1.2bn to renew Wankhede lease
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has demanded Rs 1.2 billion from the Wankhede Stadium here for the renewal of its lease, the state Assembly was informed Friday,PTI reports. The stadium is owned by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). It also houses the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

AIFF certifies 89 academies; Reliance Foundation Young Champs tops
NEW DELHI: 89 out of 123 clubs/academies that had applied for the academy accreditation have cleared the criteria this season (2019-20). Out of them, one academy (Reliance Foundation Young Champs) has received a 5-star rating followed by three academies/clubs (Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (Delhi), Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC) who have obtained a 4-star rating.

TransStadia Arena host venue for Hero Intercontinental Cup
NEW DELHI: The second edition of the Hero Intercontinental Cup will be held at the TransStadia Arena in Ahmedabad from July 7 to 18, the All India Football Federation announced on Saturday. The AIFF has already announced the participating teams but the venue of tournament was made known Saturday only. India, Syria, North Korea and Tajikistan are the participating teams.
