MUMBAI: The live broadcast of the first 29 matches of TATA IPL 2023 has surpassed 40 crore viewers, recording a growth of 24% in TVR compared to the last edition, TV rights holder Disney Star asserted Thursday. 

The reach garnered for the live broadcast of the first 29 matches is also 3.7cr higher than the reach of the entire 2022 edition, the network further stated. As per an official release, Disney Star has also received the highest-ever reach across all editions of IPL in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP and MP for the live broadcast of the first 29 matches.

MUMBAI: Disney Star, the official television broadcaster of IPL 2023, clocked a total of 8.7 billion minutes of consumption on TV for the opening match, a 47% growth in comparison to last year, the network asserted, quoting BARC 2+ (Urban+Rural) data. The broadcaster further said that its rating grew by 29% as per the BARC, Male 15+AB (Urban) data.

MUMBAI: Ahead of the 16th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League, official broadcaster Disney Star and official digital partner Viacom18 have between them reportedly roped in a total of 34 sponsors, the highest ever for the IPL.  For the last edition, Disney Star, which had both TV and digital rights, roped in 28 sponsors, exchange4media reports.

Ahead of the upcoming season of the TATA Indian Premier League, IPL TV rights holder Disney Star will be taking two of its regional language Star Sports channels off air, while simultaneously launching two others. Effective midnight, March 15 (Tuesday-Wednesday), Star Sports 1 Tamil HD and Star Sports 1 Telugu HD will start beaming, while tar Sports 1 Marathi and Star Sports 1 Bangla will go off air.

Legends League Cricket has announced that Disney Star has acquired the live TV broadcast rights for LLC Masters, which is set to return for its third season from 10th March, to be played in Doha, Qatar. The LLC Masters will constitute three teams this time around – the India Maharajas, Asia Lions and World Giants. The second season witnessed strong viewership, which was also aired on the Star Sports Network.

MUMBAI: Disney Star is reportedly set to launch three new sports channels in February 2023.  The broadcaster announced the launch of new channels while declaring the new tariff in compliance with New Tariff Order (NTO) 2.0, e4m reports.  The sports channels to be launched next year are Star Sports Select HD2, Star Sports 1 Tamil HD and Star Sports 1 Telugu HD.

MUMBAI: This was certainly not the script that the bean counters at Disney Star were hoping for. The ongoing T20 World Cup has witnessed two one-sided semi-final face-offs. While Pakistan kept up its end of the bargain (for advertisers at least) in the walloping it gave to New Zealand to book its place in Sunday's finals, Team India failed to follow suite.

MUMBAI: Disney Star has elevated Ambarish Bandyopadhyay to national head of sports sales.  As per Bandyopadhyay's Linkedin profile, the promotion took place in the last one month. Bandyopadhyay joined Star India from HT Media in October 2018 as executive director.  He was with HT Media for over four years, his last posting being as as chief operating officer of the publication.
