Paralympic Committee of India

CHENNAI: Indian Bank has signed an MoU and partnered with Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) as one of the Banking Partners ahead of the Paralympic Games, Tokyo 2020, scheduled to commence from the 24th of August. 

The bank, through its year-long association with PCI, will provide financial assistance, in an endeavor to support the Paralympic athletes prepare for the coveted sporting events in domestic arena as well as global platforms for a year.

NEW DELHI: Decorated para-athlete and India’s lone woman Paralympic medallist Deepa Malik has been elected as president of Paralympic Committee of India though the results of the elections are subject to a pending case in the Delhi High Court, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry has de-recognised the Paralympic Committee of India, citing violation of the National Sports Code in the body's decision to sack PCI president Rao Inderjit Singh. In the suspension order issued on Monday, accessed by PTI, the ministry wrote that the PCI has been penalised for misgovernance.
