NEW DELHI: David Alexander Robertson, coach of Real Kashmir FC, has been honoured with the British Empire Medal (BEM) for his services to the community in the valley and strengthening UK-India relations, a feat he dedicated to the people of Kashmir and the team he has been engaged with.

According to the list released on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday on Friday evening, “Manager, Real Kashmir Football Club, India, receives a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the community in Kashmir and UK-India relations.”

KOLKATA: Real Kashmir FC (RKFC) won the IFA Shield, defeating George Telegraph 2-1 in the final, at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday. Lukman Adefemi (38th minute) and Mason Robertson (60th) scored for the winners. Gautam Das found the target for George Telegraph. It was a hard-fought victory for the David Robertson-coached I-League side.

MUMBAI: Real Kashmir FC are set to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with English League One side Oxford United, the Hero I-League side's co-owner Sandeep Chattoo confirmed to The Bridge Friday. Chattoo, who owns the club along with Shamim Meraj, told the website that the MoU would be signed soon.

NEW DELHI: A BBC documentary on the journey of David Robertson, the former Rangers ace who coaches I-League team Real Kashmir FC, has won the 'Single Documentary' category at the BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Arts) Film Awards Scotland. The hour-long film was aired by BBC Scotland earlier this year.

NEW DELHI: I-League club Real Kashmir FC have roped in Kashif Siddiqi – a former Pakistan international and co-founder of a UN initiative called Football for peace – on loan from Oxford United, The Times of India reported on Sunday. The London-born defender is the second overseas signing of the club this year. Primarily a right back, the 33-year-old can also play in the midfield.
