NEW DELHI: Roma Khanna on Saturday stepped down as the tournament director of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and AFC Women’s Asian Cup, to be held in India in 2022, citing personal reasons.

MUMBAI: This is a development that comes as no surprise. FIFA announced Tuesday that the U-17 Women’s World Cup, which India was scheduled to host in early 2021, stands cancelled "in light of the current global COVID-19 pandemic". Further, football's world governing body confirmed India as host of the 2022 edition of the women’s youth tournament.

NEW DELHI: The updated match schedule for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2021, which is scheduled to take place from 17 February to 7 March next year, has been released. India are set to play all their group matches at Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
