NEW DELHI: A Delhi court is expected to pronounce on April 26 its order on whether to frame charges against former Wrestling Federation of India chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in a sexual harassment case lodged by six female wrestlers against him.

It bears noting that the original complaint of sexual harassment and stalking against the powerful BJP MP was made by a group of seven female wrestlers, which including a minor. However, in July 2023, the then 17-year-old retracted her allegations.

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Network (India), host broadcaster in the Indian subcontinent for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia, has sent out take down notices to illicit streaming sites warning of legal action if they decide to stream matches from the tournament. Streaming sites are a major problem for Sony and others as they are often removed but they also return in hours or days.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) incorporated the National Sports Code in its constitution after a fiery extraordinary general meeting (EGM) here Wednesday, The Telegraph reports. “We have successfully amended the constitution as per the demand of the sports ministry. GENEVA: Ahead of the World Cup in Russia, FIFA has filed a criminal complaint against online ticket platform Viagogo – the same reseller used for the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens – in its crackdown on unauthorised ticket resales.  Football’s governing body reportedly received several complaints from individuals, consumer protection bodies and other market players over the deceptive business conduct of viagogo.

MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday slapped a penalty of over Rs 1.315 billion collectively on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), its former chief N Srinivasan, former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and a few other former office bearers for alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) during IPL season 2009 after completing the adjudication process in the case.
