India Inc. take up challenge of support to livelihoods

MUMBAI: Flagged off on Independence Day, Sunfeast India Run As One, began with the hope and dream of being India’s largest citizen-led movement of its kind.

Entering its final leg, the movement has gathered momentum with support from various communities, including India Inc.

Sunfeast India Run As One has not only offered an opportunity for companies to unite the workforce to help millions affected by the pandemic; but also a perfect medium for employee engagement, team-building and corporate volunteering. The benefits and USP for Corporates are three-fold 1) Employees can register & donate; 2) Corporates can match the employee giving and 3) Companies can donate from their CSR towards the event for the cause of livelihood generation.

With this core idea, a large number of corporate groups view this movement as the simplest form of fundraising and involvement during the current situation. Over 30 corporates from across the country have lent their support to the movement. These include - Make My Trip, Mphasis, Egon Zehnder, ITC Ltd, CISCO, JSW Group, Flipkart, Khaitan & Co, HUL, Infosys, IDFC First Bank, EPL GLOBAL, HSBC, PUMA, EuroSchool India, Cipla, IIRIS, Scripbox among others..

The beauty of this initiative is that an act of registration will directly impact a person’s livelihood. Until 11th September, after registering, employees can participate from anywhere and choose an activity of their choice – indoors and outdoors; to compete among themselves for a larger cause. The registrations ranging from Rs 99 (Change Maker) to Rs 499 (Change Leader) and Rs 999 (Change Champion) have not only given Indians an opportunity to involve themselves in rebuilding lives, but they have also earned exciting gratifications as per the registration category.

From 12th – 30th September, participants can continue to contribute in support of livelihoods.  At Rs 100, participants will receive a specially designed e-certificate, autographed by youth icon Tiger Shroff and marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge and a participation e-bib. Furthermore, in addition to the e-certificate and e-bib; participants registering at Rs 600 and Rs 2500 will get an opportunity to own exclusive event memorabilia; a personalized framed certificate and a uniquely designed Commemorative Lapel pin respectively.

"We all have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic in one way or the other, but it's the marginalized society who has really been affected, uprooted and are helpless, they need support during this critical time. I have registered for the Sunfeast India Run As One movement and I will be joined by my colleagues and friends in India and across the world, who want to be part of this movement to restore livelihoods," said Nikhil Arora, managing director and VP, GoDaddy India.

"We are proud to be a part of an organization that has associated itself with a noble and innovative model jointly designed by Procam International and GiveIndia. Looking forward to an exciting month of running to ensure a better tomorrow for a growing India," said Taru Pant, Head, HR JSW-GBS.

The Sunfeast India Run As One has raised over Rs 4.2 million since it began on 15 August. There's nothing more satisfying than uplifting someone's livelihood, especially during this difficult time.
