NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has extended the timeline to submit bid documents for a direct entry into the I-League for a second time.
Interested parties can now send in their papers by September 8.
The AIFF had on August 22 issued a fresh invitation to tender setting a September 1 deadline after the bids from three prospective teams earlier this month failed to pass muster.
The date for reviewing the bid documents hasn’t been set yet though it is believed to be sometime around the second or third week of September, goal.com reports.
Crown Sports (Rajasthan), Gokulam (Kerala) and Ozone FC (Bangalore) were the three bidders that had failed to make the cut in the earlier round of bidding.
As of now, the I-League has eight teams with the inclusion of AIFF's revived youth team Arrows and confirmation that Pune-based DSK Shivajians will not be participating.
