Film stars add glitz to Premier Futsal 2nd edition

MUMBAI: The organisers of Premier Futsal are looking to leverage filmworld glamour to ensure the success of the second season of their five-a-side league. Towards that end, Telugu film industry A lister Rana Daggubati has been announced as the co-owner and face of the Telugu Tigers franchise, which was launched here on Tuesday.

Rana, who also promotes the Telugu Titans team in Pro-Kabaddi League, unveiled the team’s flag and jersey at a function on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Premier Futsal named adult actress turned Hindi film glamour girl Sunny Leone as co-owner and brand ambassador of the Kochi-based franchise Kerala Cobras.  

While Tamil actor Arya is the co-owner and brand ambassador of St Angelo’s VNCT Chennai Singhams, Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff is the face of Krystal Mumbai. 

The second season of Premier Futsal will kick off on Thursday with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Dubai as venues. The five-a-side games played on smaller fields will be of 40 minutes duration.

Esa Mohammed, the principal owner of Telugu Tigers, told the Deccan Chronicle, “The first season of Premier Futsal witnessed a huge fan following. We are extremely excited to be associated with Premier Futsal, which is gaining wide acceptance in the country.”
