BAI promises financial aid for badminton devt in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has promised financial support for the development of the shuttle sport in the state.

“Arunachal Pradesh will soon get very good financial help from the BAI for development of badminton in the state,” Arunachal Times quoted BAI vice president S Murlidharan as having stated here.

Addressing the inaugural function of an intensive winter badminton coaching camp, themed ‘Catch Them Young’, at the MLA Cottage badminton hall here, Murlidharan said BAI has identified a few states for providing financial assistance, and Arunachal Pradesh is one of them.”

Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) secretary Bamang Tago apprised the visiting BAI officials of the activities being carried out by the ASBA during his tenure since 2011 for promotion and development of the sport in the north-eastern state.

A two-month-long coaching is also being organised by ASBA.
