2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

MOSCOW: Budweiser, an official sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, has hit the back of the net by launching a unique football pitch created from its recycled plastic cups in Sochi, Russia. More than 50,000 cups collected at arenas and at the FIFA Fan Fests after the summer tournament have been used to create a new sports facility, the Budweiser ReCup Arena.   

Over 3.2 million Budweiser Red Light Cups were used during the recent FIFA World Cup™, many of which fans took home as souvenirs.

MOSCOW: The Russian president Vladimir Putin on Sunday offered to give 2022 FIFA World Cup host Qatar the opportunity to share Russia's organising lessons learned through hosting the 2018 World Cup. Putin spoke to Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani during a ceremony at the Kremlin to symbolically transfer the World Cup hosting powers to Qatar, which was attended by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, reports Efe.

MOSCOW: FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed at a press here the dates for the 2022 edition of the World Cup in Qatar, which will be held from November 21 to December 18.  This will mark the first time in the history of the game that its marquee event will be held during the winter season.

MOSCOW: FIFA, football’s governing body confirmed that no player prior to and during the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia tested positive for a banned drug or substance. The results came after it conducted the largest ever dope tests courtesy a test distribution plan (TDP) based on an analysis of doping risks for football.
