DOHA: FIFA announced on Thursday that the online last-minute sales phase of tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will starts at 12:00 (midday) Doha time on September 27 and runs until the end of the competition on December 18.

There are four ticket categories for Qatar 2022 (Category 1, Category 2, Category 3 and Category 4), with Category 1 seats being the highest priced and located in prime areas within the stadium. Category 4 is reserved exclusively for residents of Qatar.

On January 10, 2017, the FIFA council unanimously decided in favour of expanding the FIFA World Cup to a 48-team competition as of the 2026 edition, which will be co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico.
