MUMBAI: World Athletics has bestowed Indian athletics great Anju Bobby George its Woman of the Year Award at the World Athletics Awards 2021 ceremony held virtually on Wednesday.

Olympic champions Elaine Thompson-Herah (Tokyo 2020 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay Golds) of Jamaica and Karsten Warholm (Tokyo 2020 400m hurdles Gold) of Norway were named World Athletes of the Year at the event by athletics' world governing body.

NEW DELHI: Adille Sumariwalla’s election unopposed as the Athletics Federation of India president for a third term was ratified on Day 1 of the federation’s AGM here on Saturday, as were all the other posts in the executive council.

NEW DELHI: Adille Sumariwalla is set to be elected unopposed as Athletics Federation of India president for his third term, while former long jumper Anju Bobby George will be made senior vice-president in the polls of the national governing body on October 31st.  Sumariwalla and Anju were the only candidates who filed their nomination papers.
