REAL MADRID, BARCELONA, Juventus and AC Milan, four of the original 12 "super clubs" that constituted the European Super League, which are still "holding out" against dissociating from the still-born ESL could reportedly be handed a two-year ban from UEFA's European competitions.

Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to have reached an agreement with European football's governing body to stay loyal to their competitions. According to ESPN, Inter Milan are also close to reach an understanding.

MUMBAI: Andhra Pradesh has imposed a blanket ban on online gambling, targeting direct restrictions on online poker and rummy services. Perni Venkataramaiah, the state’s Minister of Transport, Information and PR, confirmed the news, stating that the Council of Ministers had agreed to amend the state’s 1974 Gaming Act to implement the ban.

LAHORE: Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel, Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan, in a short order on Monday, handed Umar Akmal a three-year ban from all cricket.  The Pakistan Cricket Board will release reasons as soon as it receives them from Justice Chauhan.

DUBAI:  The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Oman player Yousuf Abdulrahim Al Balushi from all forms of cricket for seven years for his involvement in match-fixing. Al Balushi accepted four charges of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, the games world governing body declared.

DUBAI: Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal’s appeal against the one-Test ban by match referee Javagal Srinath was rejected by the ICC-appointed judicial commissioner, Michael Beloff.  As a result, Chandimal’s four demerit points will also remain in his disciplinary record, which signifies that another offence would result in him being banned for either 4 Tests or 8 ODIs, whichever comes first.
