MUMBAI: Disney Star, official television broadcaster of TATA IPL, registered a cumulative reach of 307 million (30.7 crore) viewers for the first ten matches of the 2023 edition of world cricket's richest annual tournament, the network announced Thursday.  

The broadcaster further declared that it has garnered 23% more viewers compared to the previous IPL edition. This reach happens to be the second-highest ever in IPL history (other than IPL editions during Covid).

The latest BARC figures show that the first 32 matches of IPL 2020 in the first four weeks (Week 38-41) have been watched by 361 million viewers.  Data provided by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India further says that the total viewing minutes for the ongoing IPL season stands at 233.9 billion.

MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League 2020's opening fixture  between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on September 19 saw an unprecedented 200 million tuning in, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah has asserted. Shah cites ratings data provided by BARC to assert that total viewership on the Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform came up to 200 million.

MUMBAI: The VIVO Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) hasn’t got off to the best of starts in terms of viewership in its first 24 matches this season. According to BARC India’s report, in 2017, 344.7 million people in the country tuned into the Star TV Network to watch the matches, as compared to 237.2 million people this year, a massive drop of 107.5 million.
