BFI grants 3x3 basketball league 3BL official recognition

NEW DELHI: The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) has given recognition to 3BL, to take 3x3 basketball to the next level in India.

3BL is now among the only organizations in the world to have exclusive rights from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) as well as the National Federation (BFI).

The recognition will improve India’s chances for qualifying in the 3x3 basketball events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

India in running to host FIBA events at Asian, world level
BENGALURU: After having hosted the first-ever FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in July 2017, Basketball Federation of India (BFI) may get to host the men's competition in future, FIBA secretary general Andreas Zagklis says. “I do believe that the BFI in the near future could be a real candidate for both men's and women's events at the Asian and also the world level," Zagklis told Deccan Herald here.
