Luv Films to produce biopic on Sourav Ganguly

MUMBAI: Luv Films has announced that a biopic on former Team Indian captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly's journey is in the works. 

"We are thrilled to announce that Luv Films will produce Dada Sourav Ganguly's biopic. We are honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility and look forward to a great innings," the production house tweeted.

Ganguly said that he was "thrilled" about an upcoming biopic on him. "Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished," Ganguly tweeted.

Biopic on Ganguly's life, cricketing journey in the works
MUMBAI: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has given his nod for a biopic on his life and cricketing journey.  Talking to News18 Bangla, Sourav Ganguly said, "Yes, I have agreed to the biopic. It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to reveal the name of the director now. It will take some more time for everything to be finalised."

Anil Kapoor-produced Bindra biopic starts shooting
NEW DELHI: Shooter Abhinav Bindra's biopic, which was announced almost three years ago, has now gone on floors.  Anil Kapoor, who stars in the film with his son Harshvardhan Kapoor playing India's only individual Olympic Gold medal winner, made the announcement on Twitter. Biopic on boxer Hawa Singh to go on floors soon
MUMBAI: The first look of the biopic on Hawa Singh, known as the father of Indian boxing, featuring actor Sooraj Pancholi, was unveiled on Tuesday by superstar Salman Khan. Based on the true story of the iconic heavyweight boxer, the film will be directed by Prakash Nambiar. It will be produced by Sam S Fernandes and Kamlesh Singh Kushwaha, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: ‘Padma Shri Kaur Singh’, a biopic on the life and achievements of Indian heavyweight champion boxer Kaur Singh, is in the works. The shoot for the movie was recently wrapped up and the post-production has already started, Gurlove Singh Ratol, co-producer and partner in Slay Records, told Pragativada.

Kapil biopic gets release date
NEW DELHI: The upcoming biopic on one of India’s greatest cricketers and 1983 World Cup winning captain, Kapil Dev, will release on August 30, 2019. 'Sachin' biopic wins 2 awards at Tehran International FICTS Festival
MUMBAI: “Sachin: A Billion Dreams”, a biopic on cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, has won two awards at the recently concluded 11th Tehran International FICTS Festival 2018. James Erskine, who helmed the film, won the trophy for the Best Director of a Long Documentary and an honorary diploma. Producer Ravi Bhagchandka received the Special Award for the Best Film in the Long Documentary section.
