NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: In the clearest indication yet that the retirement of the second cog of the Big 3 of Indian sport - Mahendra Singh Dhoni - is nigh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced the Annual Player Contracts for Team India (Senior Men) for the period from October 2019 to September 2020. Missing from BCCI's contract list the former India captain.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is keen to conduct the IPL between March 28 and May 24, 2020, ESPNcricinfo reports.  The IPL Governing Council informed the eight franchises on Wednesday that the final dates of the upcoming season will be locked soon. The council is also looking to shorten the number of days in the competition to ensure the availability of the overseas players.
