NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the time given to prospective bidders to purchase the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by a further ten days, until May 20, Economic Times reports.  As per the original timeline laid down by the BCCI, the IPL ITT was available for purchase only till May 10.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has banned senior sports journalist Boria Majumdar for two years after its committee found him guilty of intimidating India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha over an interview request.  Wednesday's development, reported by ANI, comes after a three-member panel set up by the BCCI found Majumdar guilty.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Thursday released a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for title sponsorship rights for the Women’s T20 Challenge 2022. The RFQ document is available for purchase for Rs 100,000 + 18,000 (GST) for Indian entities and for Rs 100,000 in dollar equivalent for foreign entities and is available for purchase till May 4.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the venues for the five-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning 9 June. The T20I series begins less than two weeks after the conclusion of the ongoing IPL, with the first match in Delhi. The five matches will take place across 11 days, concluding with the final game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

SO FINALLY, AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF DELAYS, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has released the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the media rights to world cricket's most valuable property for its next five-year cycle – 2023-2027. For the record, the BCCI released the tender for the Indian Premier League media rights on Tuesday, March 29.

MUMBAI: After over five months of delays, the Board of Control for Cricket in India Tuesday announced the release of the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for media rights to the Indian Premier League for seasons 2023-2027.
