NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday shortlisted ten names for the position of the head coach for the Indian women's team head coach, ANI reports. The shortlisted candidates include Venkatesh Prasad, WV Raman, Brad Hogg, Ramesh Powar, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Trent Johnson, Herschelle Gibbs, Gary Kirsten, Manoj Prabhakar and Kalpana Venkatachar.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Tuesday that any cricketer found guilty of manipulating their date of birth certificates while registering for board-sanctioned tournaments, will be suspended with a two-year ban. In an official statement, the BCCI declared having ‘a zero-tolerance policy for age fraud in sport’.

MUMBAI: With India’s general elections due in April-May next year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling the idea of shifting the Indian Premier League Season 12 to South Africa.  According Mumbai Mirror, a BCCI recce team will leave for South Africa in a couple of days to keep the back-up plan ready should the IPL be required to shift out of the country due to the elections.
