MUMBAI: Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), the industry TV viewership measurement body, on Friday announced the appointment of Nakul Chopra as its new Chief Executive Officer effective August 25. This announcement comes as Sunil Lulla has decided to resign from the position of CEO to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.

MUMBAI: The Olympics 2020 opening week clocked 69 million viewers and 5.8 billion viewing minutes on TV, according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s #MeasuringMoments campaign.  Conceptualized and executed by internal teams at BARC India with its agency AGENCY09, the #MeasuringMoments campaign has been live on BARC India’s social media channels since August 5.

MUMBAI: The share of ads featuring a sports celebrity, as against a film celebrity, has gone up 3% in Indian Premier League 2020 - from 14% during IPL 2019 to 17% in the recently concluded 2020 edition.   As per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, this IPL has witnessed a 3 per cent growth in the ads featuring sports celebrities versus Bollywood celebrities.

MUMBAI: At the halfway mark of the ongoing Indian Premier League, a total of 361 million viewers have watched 32 matches in the first four weeks of the IPL between 19 September and 16 October, with total viewing minutes standing at 233.9 billion.

MUMBAI: Television rating agency Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) has set itself a target of expanding its meter homes up to 44,000 by the end of the ongoing financial year, up from the current 33,000.
