MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India has acquired the exclusive media rights to broadcast Davis Cup in India for two years between 2023 and 2024. 

Following the television and digital rights deal, the broadcaster will televise Davis Cup on its sports channels across the Indian subcontinent, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and will also be available to live-stream on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

NEW DELHI: Doubles specialist Rohan Bopanna on Monday said he has no security concerns about playing Davis Cup in Pakistan, where he has always enjoyed "great hospitality". No Indian Davis Cup squad has travelled to Pakistan since March 1964 and Bopanna will be in the Indian team which will compete in Islamabad in September for the Asia/Oceania Group I tie, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: Acting on expected lines, the Union government has given in-principle approval for the Indian Davis Cup team to travel to Pakistan later this year. The two-day, three-match tie, to be held in Islamabad in September, will decide which team will qualify for the Davis Cup qualifiers slated for early next year.

NEW DELHI: An Indian Davis Cup team is set to travel to Pakistan after 55 years, with All India Tennis Association indicating that the Central government will allow the team to travel to the "enemy country" to compete in the tie scheduled to be held in Karachi in September. No Indian Davis Cup squad has travelled to Pakistan since March 1964 and in that tie, held in Lahore, India had won 4-0.

NEW DELHI: The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has dismissed rumours that it has requested for a change of venue for India’s Davis Cup match against Pakistan in September this year following the recent terror attacks in Kashmir, IANS reports. "We have not requested for a change in venue. All such reports are baseless," AITA secretary general Hironmoy Chatterjee told the newswire.
