FIM, Dorna announce Women’s Motorcycling World C'ship

The Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto hosted a very special presentation on Saturday as the FIM and MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports announced a new project: the FIM Women’s Motorcycling World Championship. 

The new competition is intended to widen access to the sport of motorcycle racing for women and create a platform of representation for female riders.

Dorna, IRTA, MotoGP class Independent Teams extend partnership
MADRID: Dorna Sports announced Thursday the signing of a new five-year agreement with IRTA and MotoGP class Independent Teams, running from 2022 to 2026. IRTA, the International Road-Racing Teams Association, was formed in 1986 and gives Grand Prix teams a voice in the decision-making process, ensuring their interests are represented and protected.

All dates and events, as well as the eventual attendance of spectators, are subject to the evolution of the pandemic and the approval of corresponding governments and authorities.

Moto3 extends with Dell’Orto as ECU supplier until 2025
MADRID: Dorna Sports announced Tuesday a five-year contract extension with Dell’Orto, confirming the Italian company will continue as the exclusive ECU supplier to the FIM Moto3 World Championship until 2025.  Headquartered in Lombardy, Dell’Orto has been the sole ECU supplier for the lightweight class of Grand Prix racing since the inception of Moto3 in 2012 and is a long term partner of MotoGP.

MADRID: Dorna Sports has announced MEO, the consumer segment brand of Altice Portugal, as title sponsor for the season finale of the 2020 FIM MotoGP World Championship. The event is set to take place at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve from the 20th to the 22nd of November and will be officially named the Grande Premio MEO de Portugal.

Lenovo's 1st lead partner spot at a motorsports event
MADRID: Lenovo will be the title sponsor for the 2020 Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, marking the first time the Chinese IT and technology company is the lead partner at a major motorsports event.  Officially named the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, the event will be held from the 11th to 13th of September at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
