NEW DELHI: Delegates from FIFA are currently in India for a three-day meeting with the AIFF to help inculcate the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) in the country.

FIFA delegates Juerg Nepfer, head of Technical Development Services, and Chokey Nima, Regional Technical consultant, Global Football Development, South Asia, met with AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general Dr Shaji Prabhakaran on Day 1 of the meet.

The reforms, developed in close cooperation with stakeholders, will establish new global minimum standards for female players, particularly in relation to maternity.

FIFA announced Tuesday that the U-17 Women’s World Cup, which India was scheduled to host in early 2021, stands cancelled "in light of the current global COVID-19 pandemic". Further, football's world governing body confirmed India as host of the 2022 edition of the women’s youth tournament.

ZURICH: World football's governing body FIFA estimates that the negative impact of the disruption wreaked by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to be around $14 billion.     “The estimated impact of the disruption was around $14 billion,” Olli Rehn, who chairs the FIFA COVID-19 Relief Plan Steering Committee and who acts as FIFA Governance Committee deputy chairman, has stated.
