Hero I-League

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation Friday issued an invite to accept bids for new clubs to join the Hero I-League from the 2023-24 season onwards.

Under the Vision 2047 plan unveiled by the AIFF earlier this year, the federation plans to increase the number of teams in the I-League in a triple-tier system in order to provide opportunities to aspiring clubs and/or investors from various socio-economic backdrops.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday said that the winner of the Hero I-League, which begins on November 12, will play in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) next season, without paying any fee, as per the roadmap finalised three years ago.

NEW DELHI: The talks involving stakeholders of Indian football and representatives from FIFA and AFC have reportedly confirmed the roadmap for Indian professional football signed on to in 2019.  As per that, the promotion-relegation process from theI-League was supposed to kick in from the 2022-23 season onwards, while for the Indian Super league it was to be implemented from the 2024-25 season.

MUMBAI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has confirmed that the Hero I-League will have 12 teams next season and there will be no demotion from one season only. The AIFF plans to use the 2022-2023 season to have an extended home and away Hero Second Division League, and the second division winners will get promoted to the I-League from the 2023-24 season onwards.
