The Hundred

MUMBAI: After a successful inaugural season last year, England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) The Hundred returns tonight, August 3, at 11:30pm. 

The 100-ball cricket competition will see eight women's and men's teams from major English and Welsh cities compete across 60 matches over five weeks. 

Digital sports platform FanCode, which signed a 4-year exclusive media rights deal with ECB in 2021, will be the only platform to exclusively live-stream the tournament in India through the FanCode app (Android, iOS, TV) and www.fancode.com.

MUMBAI: Dream Sports-owned digital sports content platform FanCode has bagged exclusive 4-year broadcast rights for England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) new format cricket competition, The Hundred, in India. While financial terms were not disclosed, SportzPower can reveal that Sony Pictures Networks India had also put in a bid.

LONDON: Five Indian women cricketers have signed on for The Hundred, including the world’s highest ranked batter, when the competition gets under way this summer. Shafali Verma is the No. 1 ranked short-form batter and joins Birmingham Phoenix as a replacement for Sophie Devine.

BENGALURU: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly granted No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to four of its women players to feature in the inaugural season of The Hundred.  BCCI has already sent the NOCs to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the official announcement regarding the Indian contingent is likely to made by The Hundred teams soon, ESPNcricinfo reports.

MUMBAI: The BCCI is reportedly thinking about allowing its U23 players to participate in England's The Hundred in order to earn leverage over expanding the international window available for the Indian Premier League, which would be required if two more teams are to be added to the IPL, which is the plan.

LONDON: Unilever soap brand Lifebuoy has announced a multi-year partnership with England Cricket ahead of the start of the new season.  This is in addition to the previously announced partnership with the ECB’s innovative new competition, The Hundred.

LONDON: After the owners of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders confirmed interest in buying in to the the England and Wales Cricket Board’s The Hundred, the co-owner of Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultans Ali Khan Tareen has followed suit.

MUMBAI: The owners of Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders have confirmed interest to investing in The Hundred, ECB’s unique 100-ball tournament, if the competition turns towards private investment next year. KKR CEO Venky Mysore told UK's The Telegraph on Tuesday that they would surely be keen to “explore” investment opportunities in The Hundred.

LONDON: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed Thursday that the launch of The Hundred will now take place in summer 2021.  No specific dates were set for the inaugural competition in 2021. The month-long competition was scheduled to start on July 17.

LONDON: The ECB confirmed Monday that the next two sale windows for The Hundred are to be delayed. Following February’s first priority access window, a second instalment, available for subscribers to The Hundred, was due to open on 2 April.  The competition’s inaugural general sale was scheduled for 8 April. It was scheduled to be the first time that tickets for The Hundred were available in an all-access sale.
