The Hundred

MUMBAI: After a successful inaugural season last year, England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) The Hundred returns tonight, August 3, at 11:30pm. 

The 100-ball cricket competition will see eight women's and men's teams from major English and Welsh cities compete across 60 matches over five weeks. 

Digital sports platform FanCode, which signed a 4-year exclusive media rights deal with ECB in 2021, will be the only platform to exclusively live-stream the tournament in India through the FanCode app (Android, iOS, TV) and www.fancode.com.

LONDON: The England & Wales Cricket Board has announced that the men's and women's winners in the inaugural season of The Hundred, ECB's franchise-based 100-ball cricket tournament, will receive equal prize money. The total prize budget of £600,000 will be split 50/50 between the men’s and women’s competitions and is a step towards the ECB’s long-term commitment to making cricket a gender-balanced sport.

LONDON: The England and Wales Cricket Board has initiated discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow Indian women players to be made available for ECB's 'The Hundred' competition, slated to be played later this year in the UK. The Hundred is a 100-ball format that is set to launch in July with the men's and women's tournaments to run concurrently over a five-week period.

LONDON: New Balance has extended its ongoing relationship with ECB to supplying kit for all eight teams in The Hundred The American sportswear brand will produce both playing and training kits for each of the eight teams, with the men’s and women’s teams wearing the same design.

LONDON: The ECB has announced New Era as official headwear supplier to The Hundred, its new 100-ball competition. The three-year partnership will see New Era create a bespoke collection of headwear for all eight city-based teams competing in the new competition, set to launch in July 2020.

LONDON: The Englich cricket board Thursday confirmed that the first-class Counties of England and Wales have agreed to a 100-ball format for the new competition, now officially known as The Hundred.

LONDON: It has been an eventful week for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as it has named Ian Lovett as its new President. Lovett had previously been serving as the deputy chairman of the board as well as been the chairman of English county, Middlesex from 2007-2016 which play all its home games at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket.

LONDON: The chairman of England’s Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) and Worcestershire player, Daryl Mitchell on Tuesday said that the ECB’s brainchild format ‘The Hundred’ will have a good amount of takers despite being a work in progress. Following the completion of all the men’s pilot 100-ball matches organized by the PCA this month, the players involved in them were generally positive in their reviews.
