NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals on Friday announced that their lead investor, Emerging Media IPL Limited (EMIPL), has increased its shareholding to over 50% in the IPL cricket franchise.  EMIPL, which is owned and 100 per cent controlled by Manoj Badale, has successfully concluded an equity fundraise for this purpose.

MUMBAI: Five-time Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians has been provided further endorsement of its claim to being India’s leading sports club on and off the field in the latest report put out by global brand valuation agency Brand Finance.   The 2020 edition winners are the only IPL team to have grown in brand value this year, registering a 7.1% upstick at $70.3 million, according to the study.

MUMBAI: International Management Group, which has held the events rights of the Indian Premier League since its inception, is in crisis talks with the BCCI to try and salvage the deal, after the Indian cricket board sent IMG a termination notice last week. As a top BCCI official told PTI on Friday: "Yes, we have sent them a termination notice."

MUMBAI: The BCCI is reportedly set to notify a base price of Rs 15 billion for potential suitors planning to bid for any one of the two new Indian Premier League teams that will put up for auction from the 2022 season. Which is a fair number considering that in 2018, when JSW took a 50% stake in then Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), it was at a valuation of Rs 11 billion.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has approved a 10-team Indian Premier League from 2022. The decision was ratified at the BCCI's 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ahmedabad on Thursday.  It is now definite that the IPL will be a 94-match tournament from 2022, as was the case in 2010 when the BCCI added the (short-lived) Pune and Kochi franchises to the original eight-team mix.
