IAAF name, brand switch to World Athletics completed

LAUSANNE: The International Association of Athletics Federations is now officially World Athletics, a statement said. 

"We're now World Athletics," the sport's international governing body said on its website. "Welcome to the new World Athletics website, the place to come for all things about our wonderful sport. We'll be bringing you new features about athletes and the sport, as well as making it easier to find the things we know you love."

Ex-athletics champ Jon Ridgeon named IAAF CEO
MONACO: The IAAF announced Monday the appointment of Jon Ridgeon as its new CEO following approval by the IAAF Council on the first day of its 215th Council meeting here. He will take up his new role in March 2019, replacing acting CEO Nigel Garfitt.

Kerala HC directs AFI to include PU Chitra on IAAF World C'ships team
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court, in an interim order, has directed the Athletics Federation of India “ensure the participation" Asian Athletics 1500m Gold medalist PU Chitra at next month’s IAAF World Championships in London.  The case will be taken up on Monday for detailed hearing. Apart from the AFI, the court has issued notices to the Sports Ministry and AFI selection committee chairman GS Randhawa.
