International Olympic Committee (IOC)

The Indian Olympic Association, which has been dragging its feet for more than a year on the International Olympic Committee's demand that it appoint a professional chief executive, will finally re-initiate the hiring process after being called out by the IOC. 

The IOA executive council, which met in Mumbai on Tuesday, decided to issue a new advertisement for the post. The CEO will be an ex-officio member of the IOA executive council without voting rights.

BUENOS AIRES: The fourth edition of the Summer Youth Olympic Games 2022 (YOG) will be held in Dakar, Senegal. The decision was unanimously taken Monday by a show of hands from the full International Olympic Committee during the IOC session here.  This is the first time the Youth Olympic Games will be organised in Africa.

BUENOS AIRES: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will continue taking measures to cut costs for Olympic host cities in an effort to make future Games attractive to bidders, the organization’s president Thomas Bach has said. Bach also said that the IOC will not make contingency plans for the 2026 Winter Games amid reports that several cities have withdrawn from the race, Xinhua news agency reported.
