MUMBAI: Nothing tentative about it anymore. It can pretty much be stated with near certainty that WHEN the postponed Indian Premier League resumes its suspended innings in September in the UAE, pretty much all the cricket boards, barring England, will have adjusted their schedules around the IPL window that the BCCI is drawing up.

As the Australian Associated Press reported on Wednesday, Cricket Asutralia have locked in more Twenty20 tune-ups ahead of the World Cup as they await confirmation of when (emphasis ours) the second phase of the IPL will be squeezed into the schedule.

MUMBAI: The people who matter within the BCCI appear to have a single-point agenda on their collective minds. Come what may, deliver the remainder of the India Premier League that was suspended mid-way.

MUMBAI: In the increasingly unlikely event that the BCCI does manage to carve out a window for the remaining 31 games of the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, it will have to be played outside the country, board president Sourav Ganguly has acknowledged.

IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE suspension of the Indian Premier League, with the BCCI having had time to introspect, board president Sourav Ganguly has admitted that "travelling between cities could have caused the breach in the IPL's biosecure bubble".

NEW DELHI: Even as Australia on Tuesday suspended all direct passenger flights from India with immediate effect until May 15 due to the “very significant” spike in COVID-19 cases, the BCCI assured foreign players it would do everything to ensure those competing in the IPL reach their respective countries seamlessly once the tournament ends.
