MELBOURNE: Golf Australia has appointed James Sutherland its new chief executive.

Sutherland, 55, will begin his role from 1 October after an exhaustive recruitment process had yielded several quality candidates for the position.

Golf Australia chairman Andrew Newbold said it was “exciting” for golf to have attracted a candidate with vast experience in sport, with Sutherland having been chief executive at Cricket Australia for 17 years.

MELBOURNE: Cricket Australia (CA) Wednesday named Kevin Roberts to succeed James Sutherland as the board’s new chief executive officer (CEO) after a comprehensive international search process. Roberts will take over on 25 October, the day when CA will conduct its annual general meeting (AGM) where Sutherland will formally step down from the top job that he was entrusted with, back in 2001.

CANBERRA: Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland announced his resignation on Wednesday after 17 years at the helm of the sport in the cricketing powerhouse.  He has given CA a notice period of 12 months until a suitable replacement is found.
