Premier League club Chelsea FC made a virtual tour of Kerala's backwater paradise Alappuzha on Tuesday, praising the beauty of the land. Responding, the state's Tourism Minister PA Mohamed Riyas invited the Blues for a "real" tour of 'God's Own Country' where the game is loved "as much as life".

KOCHI: The Kerala tourism department is holding discussions with boat clubs and boat race organisers to start a snakeboat race modelled on the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the southern coastal state.  A top officer  with the department said talks are in an advanced stage, with the IPL-model boat race reportedly a distinct possibility in 2018.
