Kings XI Punjab

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab will reportedly be rechristened as Punjab Kings ahead of the upcoming edition of the IPL. 

As per a report in Cricbuzz, which first reported on the name change, a formal communication has been made to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in this regard and necessary approvals have been obtained. 

As per the report, the franchise is planning a grand "re-launch" in a couple of days in Mumbai, ahead of the February 18 IPL players auction.
