NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

KOCHI: Kerala Blasters FC can confirm that Kochi will remain its home ground and the club will not be shifting its home base entirely to Kozhikode, as reported by the media.

MUMBAI: Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has added his voice to the mounting opposition over the Kerala Cricket Association's plans to host the India-West Indies one-day international on November 1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi, which is also home to the Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC, rather than in Thiruvananthapuram.

BHUBANESWAR: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Wednesday announced that Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Stadium would play host to the Indian Super Cup 2018 on March 15. Meanwhile, the final of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which was earlier to be played in Kochi, has been rescheduled from April 22 to April 25.

KOCHI: Kerala's commercial capital is likely to be preferred over Cuttack for AIFF's inaugural Super Cup, to be held from March 31 to April 22. The decision is likely to be taken next week for the tournament which will see 16 teams participating in the final round of the knockout tournament which will be held from March 31-April 22, Times of India reports.

MUMBAI: Kolkata will host the final of the expanded fourth edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) while the inaugural game has been shifted to Kochi.  The now ten franchise-based league kicks off on November 17.
