MUMBAI: Football's governing bodies have pushed back furiously at plans announced by 12 European heavyweight clubs from England, Spain and Italy to launch a breakaway European Super League.
The 12 rogue clubs are the biggest names from the England's Premier League, Spain's LaLiga and Italy's Serie A. The announcement Sunday, made just two days after the same clubs had signed on the dotted line to a new deal thrashed out on Friday, has been roundly condemned by football's governing bodies, fans and pundits.
