NEW DELHI: India is expected to be among the top-10 entertainment and media markets globally by 2021 in terms of absolute numbers, according to a joint study by ASSOCHAM-PwC. The country's per capita media and entertainment spending is likely to be capped at $32 or Rs 2,080 by 2021, the study noted.

MUMBAI: According to a new joint study by Assocham-PwC, the media and entertainment (M&E) industry in India is likely to be worth USD $52,683 million (Rs 3745.2 billion) by 2022 courtesy a yearly rise in disposable income, population and content consumption across formats.

LONDON: The Indian media and entertainment industry will remain the fastest growing in the world over the next five years, according to a new report released by global accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) - "Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2018-2022 (The Outlook)". There is a rider though. Spending on internet access has to be discounted from the calculation.

MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Limited and Eros International PLC have announced that RIL, through a subsidiary, has agreed to subscribe to a 5%  equity stake in the NYSE-listed Eros at a price of $15 per share, which represents an 18 per cent premium to last closing price.  The transaction is subject to customary regulatory and other approvals.

MUMBAI: The Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector reached almost Rs 1.5 trillion ($22.7 billion) in 2017, a growth of around 13% over 2016. With its current trajectory, it is expect to cross Rs 2 trillion ($31 billion) by 2020, at a CAGR of 11.6%. The digital segment led growth, demonstrating that advertising budgets are in line with the changing content consumption patterns.
