Following the windfall gains the BCCI made by splitting of digital and TV rights for IPL's 2023-27 cycle, the Indian cricket board has reportedly decided to follow the same template for international cricket to be played in India across the next five-year cycle.

"While we are still finalising the contours of the BCCI media rights auction, we will be unbundling the media rights this time by selling TV and digital rights separately," a BCCI official is quoted as having said in report published by Economic Times .

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the media rights for the World Athletics Championships Oregon22, which is scheduled from July 15 to July 24, 2022, in Eugene, Oregon, United States.  Financial terms were not disclosed.

Just a day after yet another headline cropped up (many such have appeared over the last few months) on an impending face-off between Jeff Bezos and Mukesh Ambani over ownership of media rights for world cricket's most valuable property - the Indian Premier League - it can finally be laid to rest.

June 20: The International Cricket Council on Monday released its first Invitation To Tender (ITT) for media rights for the next cycle of ICC events starting in 2024. The ITT is for the Indian market only, with up to six packages available across TV only, digital only or a combination of both.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the time given to prospective bidders to purchase the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by a further ten days, until May 20, Economic Times reports.  As per the original timeline laid down by the BCCI, the IPL ITT was available for purchase only till May 10.

Literally on the last day as it were, Google parent Alphabet reportedly purchased the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL).  The ITT was available for purchase till May 10. Google owns streaming and video platform YouTube and joins a handful of parties that have reportedly picked up the IPL ITT.

SO FINALLY, AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF DELAYS, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has released the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the media rights to world cricket's most valuable property for its next five-year cycle – 2023-2027. For the record, the BCCI released the tender for the Indian Premier League media rights on Tuesday, March 29.
