NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation has strongly refuted and vowed "appropriate legal action" against Ranjit Bajaj, former owner of Minerva Punjab FC, for what it asserts are "defamatory allegations" made on Tuesday against AIFF general secretary Kushal Das. 

Bajaj on Monday alleged that Das had molested employees at work, a charge vehemently rejected by the national body.

ROUNDGLASS SPORTS Private Limited is now reportedly the sole owner of I-League outfit Punjab Football Club (earlier Minerva Punjab FC) after buying out the 50% stake that is currently with original promoters Ranjit Bajaj and his spouse Henna Singh.   Bajaj and Ms Singh have resigned as the directors of Punjab FC, Goal reports.

CHANDIGARH: Former I-League champion Minerva Punjab FC has been renamed as Punjab Football Club, a statement from the club said. All teams of Minerva Punjab FC will now be known as Punjab Football Club as per an agreement with the club's co-owner and 50% stakeholder Round Glass Sports Private Ltd.

CHANDIGARH: Minerva Punjab FC, the 2017-18 I-League champions, Tuesday announced a 50-50 merger with RoundGlass Sports Private Limited, another Punjab-based company focused on grassroots development of football. The merger allows RoundGlass Sports access to Minerva Punjab's players from the under-11 to under-18 teams. The partnership will also see RoundGlass Sports expand Minerva Punjab's grassroots programme.

While the All India Football Federation already fields the Indian Arrows team in the I-League, Minerva Punjab FC has announced that its team for the next edition of the I-League will be comprised of an under-23 squad.

NEW DELHI: Minerva Punjab's combative owner Ranjit Bajaj on Friday morning took to Twitter to declare he was shutting operations. Reason: The 2017-18 season I-League champions were informed that the Kalinga Stadium will not be available to host the home matches for the Chandigarh-based club as the facility is set to undergo renovation after the completion of the Super Cup.
