NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Thermal Power Corporation Foundation and Rural Electrification Corporation Foundation on Wednesday for the development of sports in India. 

The NTPC will extend a  financial support of  Rs 115 crores over the next 5 years for the development of  archery  discipline in India. REC Foundation has  committed  Rs 100 cr over 3 years to support women’s Hockey, athletics and boxing. The support towards NSDF has come through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandate.

NEW DELHI: In the interim budget presented by Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday, the allocation to sports has been increased for the financial year 2019-2020.  This includes a hike in funds for the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) and the corpus meant for giving incentives to sportspersons.

NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry will invite the country’s top businessmen to invest in the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) as a part of a ‘public-private partnership’, Times of India reports.  The government will be looking to rope in those corporates who have a history of supporting sporting initiatives in the executive board that manages the NSDF.

MUMBAI: India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) has made contribution of Rs 100 million to the National Sports Development Fund. This is the third installment of contribution made by the IIFCL making its total contribution to the NSDF Rs 300 million.
