THE PAKISTAN CRICKET BOARD'S proposal to have an annual four-nation tournament, which features India, Australia, England and Pakistan, has expectedly been shot down by the International Cricket Council (ICC) board.

The ICC board, which concluded its two-day meeting in Dubai on Sunday, noted that it was not practically possible to carve out a separate window considering the packed cricket calendar.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former ICC chief financial officer Faisal Hasnain as its new chief executive, replacing Wasim Khan. Hasnain will take charge in January. As ICC’s CFO, Faisal was involved in the sale of governing body’s commercial rights for the 2007-2015 and 2016-2023 cycles. Faisal also served Zimbabwe Cricket.

THE PAKISTAN CRICKET BOARD AND THE Pakistan Television Sports administration have resolved their dispute over broadcasting rights in Pakistan with PTV Sports withdrawing its legal cases against the PCB and preferring an out-of-court settlement. The truce was reportedly mediated by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's office.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board Monday announced details of Australia’s first tour of Pakistan since 1998, which will take place in March and April 2022, and comprise three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I. The Tests will take place in Karachi (3-7 March), Rawalpindi (12-16 March) and Lahore (21-25 March), while Lahore will be the venue for the four white-ball matches to be played from 29 March to 5 April.

The six-team tournament commenced at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi today with the opening clash between Balochistan and Northern. The ECB came to a decision after a board meeting over the weekend. Its statement didn't directly detail any specific security issues.
