NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry has confirmed that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) will be renamed as ‘Sports India’ following their meeting in the capital city on Tuesday, Times of India reports.

Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore had not only chaired this meeting, but had mentioned about the development first in a press release back in July 2018 following Sports India’s 50th governing body meeting.

“Sports Authority of India is being renamed. The word authority is being removed. It will be known as Sports India now.” Rathore had commented.

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Thursday arrested six Sports Authority of India (SAI) officials including its director Sanjay Kumar Sharma under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. A CBI official told IANS that it had received information about SAI officials in the transport department accepting bribes worth Rs 57000 to clear bills worth Rs 1.9 million.

NEW DELHI: Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore Sunday launched the Khelo India logo at the Nehru Stadium. The Khelo India School Games will be staged here from January 31. “We crowd-sourced the logo design and we were delighted that many chose the colours of the National flag,” The Hindu quotes Rathore having said. The three-stroke Khelo India logo was designed by Ogilvy India.
