NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry has confirmed that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) will be renamed as ‘Sports India’ following their meeting in the capital city on Tuesday, Times of India reports.

Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore had not only chaired this meeting, but had mentioned about the development first in a press release back in July 2018 following Sports India’s 50th governing body meeting.

“Sports Authority of India is being renamed. The word authority is being removed. It will be known as Sports India now.” Rathore had commented.
