ZURICH: The FIFA Council has passed landmark reforms to better protect female players and football coaches, and approved several additional measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting, which was held via videoconference, opened with the members observing a minute’s silence in honour of Diego Maradona, who died on 25 November.

NEW DELHI: A final verdict from the Supreme Court on a matter it has already adjudicated on twice but has chosen to revisit yet again (emphasis ours) - reforms in Indian cricket administration - may be a long way off still (emphasis ours yet again), but at least now there is a date when the hearings will resume.

ZURICH: The FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee (FSC) has backed two sets of landmark reforms to strengthen the protection of female players, as well as football coaches. The reforms, developed in close cooperation with stakeholders, will establish new global minimum standards for female players, particularly in relation to maternity.

NEW DELHI: Amicus Curiae Gopal Subramanium, guiding the Supreme Court in implementation of the Justice Lodha Committee reforms by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and its full members, has brushed off most of BCCI's objections raised in its petition before the apex court, agreeing to only one amendment.

MUMBAI: While 13 state associations have written to the BCCI regarding implementation of the Lodha Committee reforms, the board has requested the remaining associations to write in their views so that an affidavit on the issue can be filed in the Spreme Court, a report in newspaper The Hindu said.
